this patch combines a TON of memories for us!
 
sami spent her high school spring breaks with her best gal pals on kauai's north shore. her first time ever surfing was at hanalei bay (and a complete failure) but this special beach still holds a place in her heart from all the memories made on the island!
 
the idea of putting a barrel in shark jaws also came from another memory: when sami was in middle school, she had a huge shark jaw hanging up by her bed. one night she stretched her hand a little too far and got caught in the jaws -WHOOPS! not knowing what was happening she kept pulling and screaming and well... you get the idea. while she hasn't been attacked by a live shark... it's safe to say there's evidence of feeling how badly shark teeth hurt!
