our 2020 gift guides

This year we're ALL about highlighting smaller businesses, local brands, and tried + true companies that we stand behind. We've created a couple of gift guides with the outdoor enthusiast, the homebody, the apparel lover in mind, and even our intern's faves! Each one features some of our favorite small business friends that have some awesome gifts!

For the Outdoor Enthusiast

  1. MuttRuk Adventure Pack ($68) - We're big fans of a fanny pack but this one is geared towards all types of adventure, especially if you have a pup! I've been eyeing the red one so I can hike with Cookie and carry all his gear.

  2. Magnesium Fire Starter ($6) - Not only are these a life-saver (literally) but it's enjoyable to learn the skill of building your own fire and starting it with one of these guys.

  3. Bullkelp Bedroll ($459) - This brand caught my eye (I know it's an investment) and I've been obsessed with the idea of these bedrolls ever since! Such cool Wild West vibes and perfect for sleeping under the stars.

  4. 72-Hour Emergency Kit ($37) - You might be laughing since this isn't the sexiest gift, but it's really great to have and to give. Nathan says that if we didn't have one already, we would love this as a gift.

  5. Native Instinct Co Throw Blankets ($90) - We love our friends at Native Instinct Co! Everything on their site is hand-sewn in Colorado Springs and is oh-so-cozy.

  6. Tri-Fold Shovel ($20) - This shovel is EVERYTHING! We've had ours for almost two years and it has done everything from dig us out of snow piles to create firepits. We love that it folds into a compact piece.

  7. Free Country Cloud Lite Reversible Jacket ($100) - Free Country sent me this jacket but I am honestly SO in love with it that I would gift it to my best hiking gal pal! It's extremely warm, reversible, and actually made from a fabric made from recycled bottles.

  8. Showerpouch ($25 for 5) - Sick of using baby wipes and not feeling clean? Our friends at ShowerPouch legitimately have you covered with a big ass body wipe that will make you feel so good after a day hiking or camping.

  9. Kulacloth ($5) - If you're a lady who backpacks or camps, you NEED THIS. It's the first of its kind - an intentionally (and obsessively) designed reusable antimicrobial pee cloth! If you're out in the wilderness you usually A.) pack in a ton of toilet paper or B.) employ the 'shaking off' method and both pretty much suck. This pee cloth is the way to stay comfy and be environmentally conscious. You can also use these as cleaning cloth or a small washcloth.

  10. Overland Coffee Co Pour-Over Kit $32) - For your camping + off-road friends who love coffee, or for those who just love coffee! These are great because you can just pop the filter in and pour over hot water.

FOR THE HOMEbody

  1. Elsewhere Candles ($20) - Their candles are inspired by the scents of the outdoors, including National Parks! Definitely snagging the Joshua Tree one :) If you can't decide on one for a gift, they also offer a candle club subscription.

  2. The Book of Epiq People ($75) - We have this on our coffee table and it is the most perfect conversation starter. We've loved learning about everyone who writes their answers in!

  3. Herb Pot + Planter Tray ($16) - I love Tyler Kingston Mercantile! I want every single thing they sell in my house. These little planters are affordable but look super luxe.

  4. Daneson Mint Toothpicks ($6) - I love these as a fun stocking stuffer! Nathan always wants toothpicks and I'm into the fact that these are mint flavored

  5. Magnolia Home Cast Iron Dutch Oven ($50) - Nathan got this for his birthday and loves it! Really great quality for a fraction of the cost of a Le Creuset.

  6. Stoneware Colander Basket ($29) - For some reason, I'm obsessed with these little colanders for rinsing and storing fruit and veggies. They're so cute!

  7. Homebody Keychain ($9) - Just like it says, perfect for the homebody ;)

  8. P.F. Candle Co Room Spray ($18) - Their scents are some of my favorite and room sprays are absolute game-changers if you haven't tried one yet.

  9. Half Baked Harvest Cookbook ($30) - This is our cooking bible. Seriously not kidding! We've almost cooked our way through it and every recipe has been nothing short of amazing.

  10. Leather Toilet Paper Holder Kit ($36) - Can we agree that toilet paper holders just aren't that chic? This one IS. I love it and want to order the dark one for our tiny bathroom.

  11. Seek & Swoon Throw ($90+) - I just snagged one of these and couldn't be more obsessed! I met Jala through my time at SPPR and have fallen in love with her product, and mission. These are truly special blankets and worth every penny!
