autocamp in yosemite national park

Writer: theunexpectedtypetheunexpectedtype

This blog post is definitely overdue, considering we visited in January BUT with all the craziness happening, I'm working on writing about the places we've visited and bring you some inspo this way while you plan for future trips!

So let's chat about AutoCamp.

If you haven't heard of it, it's time to check out their website because I can guarantee you'l get a healthy dose of wanderlust from taking a glance at their properties. Each of their locations feature airstream trailers as lodging giving you a luxury retreat experience infused with really smart design. They have four locations: Santa Barbara, Yosemite, Russian River and their newest just opened in Cape Cod. My cousin Christina has been wanting to check out the Yosemite location and we were lucky enough to tag along on her birthday trip!

I LOVED the location and was even more obsessed with the details, like a communal mid-century clubhouse, fully stocked AutoCamp Shop, welcome drinks, and morning yoga. I could probably talk about how much I loved the design of everything FOREVER, but you can just take a peek at the photos below for that ;)

We stayed in the Classic Suite, an airstream with plenty of room that still gave a cozy feel. This airstream boasted a comfy AF bed, TV, kitchen stocked with cooking essentials for the fire pit, fire starter kits, a walk- in shower (loved their shampoo + conditioner!) and a fun couch that pulls out into a bed. We spent most of our time outside by the fire cooking up steak and that was good enough for us, even in the cold! We also wandered back up to the Clubhouse and the AutoCamp shop when we weren't outside. Being in a communal space was so fun and their shop was stocked with some of the coolest indie snacks & goods. Obviously I walked away with a Yosemite crewneck sweatshirt.

One perk that made our entire experience so worthwhile: free morning yoga. I haven't done yoga in YEARS and it was the best to do yoga in a warm room while on a rainy Sunday morning. Highly suggested to join the free class if you go and they have one!

We also headed into Yosemite for the weekend and am sharing photos below! Many roads were closed due to the snow, but we managed to pop by the meadow and do a hike to Mirror Lake, which was a fun walk. If you haven't been to Yosemite in the winter, you're missing out!

Have you been in the winter? We're DYING to go back in Summer for longer hikes, days and more open roads. See ya then! xo, Sami.
